Paysandisia archon occurs in Veneto, Italy
The NPPO of Italy recently informed the EPPO Secretariat that Paysandisia archon (Lepidoptera: Castniidae – EPPO A2 List) has been found for the first time in Veneto region. On 2009-03-10, P. archon was observed on several plants of Trachycarpus fortunei growing in a nursery at Bardolino (Verona province). All infested palm trees were destroyed.
The situation of Paysandisia archon in Italy can be described as follows: Present, found in several regions (Apulia, Campania, Liguria, Marche, Sicilia, Toscana, Veneto), under official control.
