Opogona sacchari found and eradicated in Hungary

In 1993 in Hungary, damage of Opogona sacchari (EPPO A2 quarantine pest) was observed in stems of two Dracaena fragrans (cv. Massangeana) plants belonging to the collection of an occasional florist in Budapest. The pest was rapidly eradicated. This first occurrence of O. sacchari in Hungary in 1993 can be regarded as a singular and isolated case, as the pest was never found again.
