Ips typographus reported in Canada
Ips typographus (EU Annex II/B) has recently been detected at the port of Montréal, Canada, during a regular survey. Three beetles have been found in traps since 1996-05-07. Action was taken to eliminate any possible infested material in the vicinity of the traps, and several containers and piles of used dunnage were burned. A more intensive programme of survey is being applied. This is the first report of I. typographus in Canada.
