Situation of Xanthomonas campestris pv. vesicatoria in the Caribbean Basin
Serological studies have been carried out in Florida (US) on different strains of Xanthomonas campestris pv. vesicatoria (EPPO A2 quarantine pest). These strains have been isolated from tomato and pepper grown in production fields of the following countries: Barbados, Costa Rica, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, and the United States Virgin Islands. According to the EPPO, Secretariat records of X. campestris pv. vesicatoria in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua and US Virgin Islands are new.
