Rating scale for Tilletia indica
In India, a rating scale was developed for identifying wheat cultivars resistant to Tilletia indica (EPPO Al organism). Rated were the severity by measuring bunted grains per spike and the response of wheat to T. indica by measuring the extent of damage to the grains. Severity and response were used to evaluate resistance by calculating a coefficient of infection. As a result wheat cultivars were classified into 5 classes ranging from highly resistant to highly susceptible.
