Variations in susceptibility of Malus taxa to apple proliferation MLO
Variations of the susceptibility of 85 Malus species, subspecies, cultivars and hybrids were studied by graft-inoculating of seedlings with diseased scion cultivars.
Apomictic rootstock selections derived from crosses of M. sieboldii and M. sargentii with M. pumila showed a high recovery rate, low mortality and a decreasing MLO population which was apparently eliminated after a few years.
