Serological detection of raspberry ringspot nepovirus and other grapevine nepoviruses
The simultaneous serological detection of raspberry ringspot nepovirus (RRV), arabis mosaic nepovirus (ArMV), tomato black ring nepovirus (TBRV) and grapevine fanleaf nepovirus (GFLV) has been studied by using mixed polyclonal antibodies in a single DAS-ELISA test. ArMV and GFLV as well as TBRV and RRV were simultaneously detected and the results were as efficient and reliable as with conventional simple antibodies.
Plant sap of diseased leaves or wood shavings can be used in this simultaneous detection of grapevine nepoviruses.
This detection method could be successfully used in samples where a differentiation between the viruses is not important, e.g. certification schemes.
