Changes in Phytosanitary Regulations of Finland
Sawn wood of conifers from non-European countries has now to be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate. Sawn wood of conifers from countries where Bursaphelenchus xylophilus occurs (at present, Canada, China, Japan, USA) must have been kiln-dried by a procedure which raises the temperatures of all parts of the material to at least 70°C and reduces moisture content below 20 %.
Import of fuel wood, wood chips, waste wood, rough wood, hoopwood, railway or tramway sleepers from countries where·Bursaphelenchus xylophilus occurs is prohibited.
