Beet necrotic yellow vein virus and other new pests in Hungary
Two mites and two viruses have been detected for the first time in Hungary:
Aculops lycopersici was found on vegetables growing under glasshouse conditions.
Phytocoptella yuccae was found on ornamentals. This pest may have been introduced from Colombia.
Wheat streak mosaic potyvirus was detected on wheat germplasm material maintained in a research glasshouse. It has not been found in the field. Beet necrotic yellow vein virus was found on diseased plants in 1982 in one sugarbeet plot.
