Fireblight in the United Kingdom (Northern Ireland)
Erwinia amylovora was confirmed in the United Kingdom (Northern Ireland) for the first time in August/September 1986 on species of Cotoneaster, Sorbus and Pyracantha. An eradication programme was immediately set up and will continue·
throughout 1987.
