Control of Carnation Tortrix Moths


The Ministry of Agriculture,

Regarding articles 342 to 364 of the "Code rural" ;
Regarding the Order of 30th July 1970. concerning the control of crop pests, supplemented by the Orders of 1st September 1972 and of 16th June 1975 ;
Regarding rule no. 74/647/C.E.E. of 9th December 1974 of the E.E.C. ;
On the proposal of the Director of production, markets and foreign exchange,

       Orders :
Article 1. The. list of crop pests against which control is obligatory in all areas and such that the pest is totally excluded, appearing in the appendix of the Order of 30th July 1970, is completed as follows :
       Animals :
Cacoecimorpha pronubana (Hb). Mediterranean Carnation Tortrix.
Epichoristodes acerbella (Walk. Diak.). South African Carnation Tortrix.
Article 2. The Director of production, markets and foreign exchange (Plant Protection Service)·is·in charge of implementing the present Order, which will be published in the Official Journal of the Republic of France.

Regarding rule 74/647/C.E.E. of 9th December 1974 of the E.E.C. concerning control of carnation tortrix moths ;
On the proposal of the Director of production, markets and foreign exchange,
       
       Orders :
Article l. Control of the carnation tortrix moths, Cacoecimorpha pronubana (Hb ) and Epichoristodes acerbella (Walk. Diak.) is compulsory in all French territories.
Article 2. The control, by the persons concerned, will be conducted according to the rules laid down by the Plant Protection Service.
Article 3. The transportation of plants or parts of plants of the carnation Dianthus L., and including cut flowers, infested by carnation tortrix moths is forbidden.
Article 4. Notwithstanding article 3, cut flowers, considered by personnel of the Plant Protection Service to harbour a weak infestation, may be distributed between l6th October and 30th April each year.
Article 5. The Director of production, markets and foreign exchange (Plant Protection Service) is in charge of implementing this order which will be published in the Official Journal of the Republic of France.
