First report of Dacus ciliatus in Turkey
During a survey conducted in September 2018 in South-eastern Anatolia (Turkey), Dacus ciliatus (Diptera: Tephritidae – EPPO A2 List) was detected for the first time in Turkey. Damage due to infestations of D. ciliatus was detected in the provinces of Diyarbakır, Mardin, Siirt and Şırnak (all in Southeast Anatolia region) in crops of cucumber (Cucumis sativus).
The situation of Dacus ciliatus in Turkey can be described as follows: Present, only in some areas (first found in 2018 in Southeast Anatolia region).
