According to Seljak (2006), large populations were already found in parks in Nova Gorica in 2002 (so the pest was probably there in 2001), and then along the Slovene-Italian border. In 2003, it spread across the south-western part of Slovenia (where most Albizzia are planted), and also towards the South (Istria).
