The annual report for 1996 gives the following distribution by province:
- West: Chernovtsy, Ivano-Frankovsk, Khmel'nitskii, L'vov, Rovno, Zakarpat'e
- Centre: Cherkassy, Kiev, Kirovograd, Poltava, Sumy, Vinnitsa,
- South: Kherson, Krym, Nikolaev, Odessa, Zaporozh'e
- East: Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Khar'kov, Lugansk
From Fedorenko & Pylypenko (2012), the weed has heavily colonized the country. It occurs in all regions, including the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
EPPO Reporting Service (2014/075) : the total infested area is estimated to be 3 316 805 ha (in 1 autonomous republic and 24 oblasts).
