Comments
EPPO Reporting Service (2012/221) : first observed in 2009 in several sugar beet fields near Heilbronn (Baden-Württemberg) and ‘Ca. A. phytopathogenicus’ was detected in diseased plants. The presence of the vector Pentastiridius leporinus was also noticed in affected fields.

NPPO (2023-06): first found in Sachsen-Anhalt in 2018 on sugarbeet. Official measures were applied. However surveys in 2019-2023 showed that the pathogen had spread in the region with its vector. As Candidatus Arsenophonus phytopathogenicus is not regulated by the EU and the measures were not effective, official measures are lifted.

EPPO Reporting Service (2023/209) : observed in potato (Solanum tuberosum) fields.
