1975-09/11 (first record west of the Rocky Mountains in the continental USA, Los Angeles County). Eradicated officially by 1976-08. Reinfestation 1980-06/1982-09. All incursions were eradicated.
EPPO Reporting Service (2002/020) : single outbreak in Los Angeles county in 2001. See also NAPPO Phytosanitary Alert of 2001-09-07. Eradicated.
EPPO Reporting Service (2008/062) : few specimens caught from September to November 2007 in the counties of Solano, Santa Clara and Los Angeles. In all cases, eradication measures were applied.
In August 2012, 3 males and 1 female were found in 2 traps in San Bernadino county. Eradicated.
In March 2014, 4 males were found in the city of Los Angeles (12 more adults and 4 larval sites were then found). Under eradication. Declared eradicated from California and the USA in October 2014.
In December 2014, a transient population was found in the city of Perris, Riverside county. Eradicated in 2015.
In November 2016, a transient population was found in a residential area of Los Angeles county. Under eradication.
In August 2017, 12 adult and 55 larvae were found in residential areas of Los Angeles county (Sun Valley area). In August and September 2017, 5 specimens were caught in the Fairfield area of Solano county. Under eradication.
In 2018, the quarantine areas in Sun valley (Los Angeles county) and Fairfield area (Solano county) were removed (outbreaks detected in 2017). Quarantined areas were delimited in the Half Moon Bay Area of San Mateo county. Eradicated in November 2018.
In August 2024, 1 female traped in Alameda county. Further adults trapped in September and October. Under eradication.
