The presence of C. fraxinea in Latvia is confirmed by Rytkönen et al. (2011).
According to Laivins et al. (2016), during the last 15 years, the area of forest stands of Fraxinus exelsior has decreased by 40.6%. A large part of this decrease can be attributed to ash dieback. The invasion began in Southern Latvia, the pathogen then spread across the whole country (at an average rate of dispersal of 40 km per year).
