Listed as present in Côte d'Azur (French riviera). No particular damage recorded (Foldi and Germain, 2018). However, it is unclear in this paper if the pest has been found in France itself or if it refers to the finding made in the botanical garden of Monaco (Germain and Matile-Ferrero, 2006).
When re-evaluating the information during the EPPO Panel on Phytosanitary Measures in March 2022, it became clear that C. pini has only been found in Monaco.
