According to Kapoor (2005/2006), 5 species of the B. dorsalis complex are present in India: B. caryeae, B. poonensis, B. dorsalis, B. carambolae, and B. vishnu (B. occipitalis is still doubtful and B. kandiensis occurs in Sri Lanka and is believed to be present in Southern India).
EPPO Reporting Service (2007/216) : B. invadens was detected for the first time during surveys conducted from May to August 2005 in the South of India.
