EPPO Reporting Service (1998/207) : according to the monograph of Panic & Arsenijevic (1996), in the years since 1990, the range in Serbia and Montenegro extended, among other areas, to eastern Montenegro.

According to Balaz et al. (2012), E. amylovora was first reported in 1996 on a small number of pear trees near Bijelo Polje. The identity of the bacterium was confirmed in 2003 on apple samples from the vicinity of Niksic. Surveys conducted in June-July 2012 confirmed its wide distribution in Montenegro.
