Has been found locally on P. canariensis in the south (EPPO DS 1982). However, according to the latest EPPO DS, the forma specialis on P. canariensis is distinct from that on P. dactylifera, so this record does not apply to the bayoudh pathogen. This is further confirmed by EPPO Reporting Service (1997/152) .
