Comments
Symptoms were first observed in November 2005 on seedlings (Pinus patula, P. tecunumanii, P. maximinoi) in a nursery in Valle del Cauca. In March 2006, symptoms were also observed on Pinus patula trees near Santa Rosa (Risaralda department). In 2006-2007, pitch canker was also observed in established plantations of P. patula and P. kesiya in Valle del Cauca and Antioquia, respectively.

------- Studied isolates were collected from 2005 to 2020 in Antioquia, Caldas, Risaralda and Valle del Cauca. Limited genetic variability. First introduced in nurseries and then moved with asymptomatic seedlings during plantation establishment.
