A few years ago, two trees of Populus tremula, at different sites, were suspected of being infected by H. mammatum. Samples examined by the Forest Research Institute gave negative results. There are no other suggestions of the presence of the fungus in Finland, so the record given in the EPPO data sheet can be considered erroneous.
