Ips duplicatus(IPSXDU)

First recorded in: 1948
According to Olenici et al. (2022): I. duplicatus was first collected in 1948 in the Eastern Carpathians (Rarău Mountain). Then it was sporadically found in many locations (mainly Eastern Carpathians at altitudes betweem 175 to 1 200 m). An outbreak took place from 2005 to 2014 in the notth-eastern part, killing more than 1.3 million trees. Surveys have shown that I. duplicatus is established in most parts of the Norway spruce's (Picea abies) range.
