Velarivirus nanoavii(LCHV10)

Distribution details in Belgium

Situation
Current pest situation evaluated by EPPO on the basis of information dated 2017: Present, restricted distribution
Pest status declared by NPPO: Present, in most parts of the area where host crops are grown (2017-12)
Comments
Detected in commercial orchards as well as on ornamental species and in private gardens (on Prunus avium, Prunus cerasus and on ornamental Prunus species, Prunus serrulata ‘Kwanzan’ (Hizakura), Prunus cerasifera ‘nigra’). P. domestica (plum) was also identified as a new host plant for Belgium.
In the Walloon area, in most sampled orchards, only a low level of trees (< 5%) was found to be infected with Little cherry viruses (LChV1, LChV2 or both viruses). Sampling in Flanders in commercial orchards was mainly based on symptoms, leading to higher percentages of positive trees with less information on prevalence.
