Distribution details in Uruguay

Situation
Current pest situation evaluated by EPPO on the basis of information dated 1999: Present, no details
From NPPO: Absent, invalid record
Comments
Previously but erroneously thought to occur (Anon., 1970); apparently a misidentification of Pissodes radiatae Hopkins (Wibmer & O'Brien). However, its presence was later confirmed (Abgrall et al., 1999).

--------- The USDA data sheet claims that the species which established in Uruguay spread to Argentina. However, Uruguay denies that this was P. castaneus, declaring it to be P. radiatae.
