PPV has a limited distribution in Turkey, it has been found in the Aegean, Central Anatolia, Marmara, and Mediterranean regions.

EPPO Reporting Service (1997/192) : PPV-M strain.

EPPO Reporting Service (2005/012) : main production area (eastern Anatolia) still free, also other production areas except in region of Bursa (Marmara region). But PPV widespread in Ankara region.

EPPO Reporting Service (2005/055) : found in Kahramanmaras province (eastern Mediterranean region) in peach and cherry. First record in cherry in Turkey.

EPPO Reporting Service (2007/009) : also found near Adana and Mersin (Mediterranean region).

EPPO Reporting Service (2007/080) : recombinant strain reported for the first time from Turkey.

EPPO Reporting Service (2007/124) : strains D and M (this RS refers back to a publication predating EPPO Reporting Service (2007/080) )

EPPO Reporting Service (2013/245) : new strain PPV-T (Turkey) detected in the region of Ankara.

EPPO Reporting Service (2023/175) : detected on Tilia spp. in Istanbul during surveys in 2017-2018.
