EPPO Reporting Service (2011/188) : detected in 2011 in 2 plots (15 and 23 ha) on yellow kiwi in Galicia. Plant material had been imported from an Italian nursery (Emilia-Romagna). Infected material has been destroyed and surveys are being undertaken.
The NPPO (2011-11) provided additional details: the first detection was made in a plot of 15 ha located in 'Santa Maria de Oia' (province of Pontevedra, Galicia). Intensive surveys detected the bacterium in 2 other plots in the province of Pontevedra: in Burgueira (26 ha) and Tomino (1 ha).
EPPO Reporting Service (2016/203) : País Vasco (first found in 2015 in Gipuzkoa, in a small private orchard).
From NPPO (2017): during official surveys, the bacterium was detected in 3 kiwifruit orchards in the municipality of Pravia. Under eradication.
From NPPO (2018): the outbreak detected in 2015 in Gipuzkoa (see above) was successfully eradicated. However, new outbreaks were detected in 2018 in kiwifruit orchards in Abegondo (Galicia) and in Baztan (Navarra). Under official control.
From NPPO (2019): an outbreak was found in an Actinidia deliciosa cv. Hayward plantation (0.61 ha; 13 years old) in the municipality of Errenteria (Gipuzkoa province, País Vasco). Another outbreak was detected in an orchard (2.5 ha) in the municipality of Carreño (Asturias). Under official control.
