The source of an old record included in previous versions of the database was a German data sheet (prepared by BBA in 1982 - without any reference to substantiate geographical records). This old record was already judged doubtful by the Swiss NPPO in 1993. In 2019, after consultation with several private and federal research labs, the NPPO of Switzerland confirmed that according to the best of its knowledge the virus has never been detected in Swiss samples.
