In September 2010, the presence of the pest was confirmed in Kona (Hawaii island), under official control.

Then, also found in Oahu and Maui islands (Pulakkatu-thodi et al., 2018), Kauaʻi (2020), and Lānaʻi (2020) (Johnson et al., 2024).
