X. germanus was found at 2 locations: in Sabotin/Nova Gorica (North-West) in April 2000 on Castanea sativa and in Arnova sela pri Brezicah (South-East) in April 2006 on Malus domestica. Specimen have been placed in insect collections (Slovenian Museum of Natural History and Department of Forestry, Chair of Forest Protection, Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana).
From Hauptman et al. (2019): found in other parts of Slovenia. First economic damage was recorded in 2016 (massive attack on recently felled logs of different tree species).
From Hauptman et al. (2024): more individuals (1581) caught in 2 locations (Eastern and Western Slovenia) during a survey conducted in 2023.
