EPPO Reporting Service 500/04: intercepted in France in propagating material imported from Italy but originating from the USA. See also EPPO Reporting Service 505/13.

EPPO Reporting Service (2013/184) : detected in mid-October 2013 in olive trees affected by extensive leaf scorch and dieback in Southern Italy (area of Salento, Puglia region). Under eradication.

EPPO Reporting Service (2014/204) : Philaenus spumarius could play a role in the disease epidemiology in olive orchards.

EPPO Reporting Service (2016/143) : not found on a number of ornamental and forestry plants.

EPPO Reporting Service (2017/129) : Italian CodiRO strain most closely related to isolates from Central America.

EPPO Reporting Service (2019/016) : X. fastidiosa subsp. multiplex found in Toscana region in november 2018. Under official control.

EPPO Reporting Service (2022/111) : under containment in Puglia, outbreaks under eradication in Toscana and Lazio.

EPPO Reporting Service (2024/038) : first detection of X. fastidiosa subsp. fastidiosa in January 2024 in 6 almond trees (Prunus dulcis) in in the municipality of Triggiano (province of Bari, region of Puglia). Under official control.

EPPO Reporting Service (2024/060) : following the above detection, in March 2024 more plants were found infected by X. fastidiosa subsp. fastidiosa: 16 Prunus dulcis (almond), 2 Vitis vinifera (grapevine) and 1 Prunus avium (cherry). This is the first time that this bacterium is detected on grapevine in Italy. Under eradication.
