Probably originated in Southern Mexico. According to EPPO Reporting Service 501/02, eradication programme in northwest. A.g. grandis occurs in NE; A.g. thurberiae occurs in NW, intermediates occur in the rest of the country. Present in Baja California Sur, Coahuila, Chihuahua, Jalisco, Morelos, Oaxaca, Sinaloa, Sonora, Tamaulipas, Zacatecas.
