EPPO Reporting Service (2001/003) : first 4 catches in Ticino canton, near Lugano airport. Disinfestation applied, and maize cultivation now prohibited in area.
EPPO Reporting Service (2001/032) : further details. Containment measures in place
EPPO Reporting Service (2002/001) : further catches in Ticino canton. Insect now considered established in a small area. Eradication not considered feasible because of population levels in adjoining areas of Italy.
EPPO Reporting Service (2003/001) : not found north of the Alps. Some further spread in Ticino.
EPPO Reporting Service (2004/058) : caught for the first time north of the Alps (Uri, then Lucerne, Basel and Zürich cantons). Containment strategy based on compulsory crop rotation and elimination of volunteer plants.
EPPO Reporting Service (2011/173) : few captures in the canton of Uri and Lucerne, regular captures in Ticino. Eradication continues.
