EPPO Reporting Service (1996/107) : first found in Northern Spain in 1995-08 on cider apples newly planted at Lezo (Guipuzcoa, Pais Basco), 8 km from French border. Under eradication.
1998: several outbreaks.
EPPO Reporting Service (1998/206) : the first focus was followed by others in Guipuzcoa, and one in Navarra. In 1996, there was one focus in Segovia province (Castilla y Léon Province); in 1998, two - Lleida (Catalunya), Guadalajara (Castilla La Mancha). Eradication measures have been applied in all cases.
EPPO Reporting Service (2001/142) : declared absent in Cataluña, Comunidad Valenciana, Islas Baleares. In País Vasco, low incidence in Guipuzcoa province.
EPPO Reporting Service (2000/039) : after the initial find in 1995 in Pais Vasco, spread towards the north throughout the province of Guipuzcoa, mainly on cider apple. After the initial find in 1996 in Navarra, now widespread in the north and centre of Navarra, mainly on pyracantha. Foci in Catalunya in 1997/1999 were detected and eradicated. Small foci in Castilla y Léon and Aragon were found and eradicated.
EPPO Reporting Service (2005/042) : never found in any other area than those mentioned above. Comparison of isolated strains showed them to be very homogeneous.
