EPPO Reporting Service (2007/145) : first record. 7 outbreaks found in private gardens but also in 4 commercial orchards and 1 research centre. Phytosanitary measures are being taken to eradicate the disease. Surveys continue.
From NPPO (2013-04), only 1 outbreak in Zemgale region remains under eradication (all others have been successfully eradicated).
EPPO Reporting Service (2013/224) : in 2013, 8 outbreaks of E. amylovora were detected, under eradication.
EPPO Reporting Service (2014/074) : in 2013, 8 outbreaks were detected in Malus, Pyrus and Crataegus, under eradication.
From NPPO (2018): several outbreaks detected in previous years were successfully eradicated in 2018 [2013 outbreaks of Dzelzamurs, Saldus, Tukums, Tukuma - 2014 outbreaks of Grobinas, Jurmala, Olaines]. However, new outbreaks were detected in 2018 in Rezekne (apple and pear trees in an orchard), Dobeles (apple trees in a private garden), Keguma (apple and pear trees, Cotoneaster and Sorbus in a private garden). Eradication continues.
EU (2019): Latvia is a protected zone for Erwinia amylovora.
