Notes

Mexico. Planted as an ornamental and hedging plant, frequently naturalized. Introduced in western Mediterranean, Central, Eastern and Southern Africa, North (locally) and South America. Several related species have also been introduced from America into other continents, and there is some confusion within this group of introduced Opuntia species (and possibly also hybridization)
