Comments
In 2019, infected plants were shipped to retail nursery outlets. The Kansas Department of Agriculture and USDA visited these retail stores, quarantined plants, and ordered them to be destroyed. This trace-forward event is the only time P. ramorum has been detected in Kansas, in unsold, potted plants in a retail setting. The two subsequent statewide surveys for P. ramorum carried out in 2020 and 2021 were all negative. P. ramorum has never been detected in the environment or in planted plants.
