Mainly present in Northern Italy: Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Lombardia, Piemonte, Trentino-Alto Adige, Val d'Aosta, Veneto - but detected in 2010 in Campania (provinces of Avellino and Napoli).
EPPO Reporting Service (1993/210) : in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, in the extreme east of the country near the border with Slovenia. A few specimens found near Pordenone.
EPPO Reporting Service (1994/111) : areas of Milano, Varese, Pavia, Novara and Sondrio. These much more extensive reports in Piemonte and Lombardia are additional to the earlier record in Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
EPPO Reporting Service (1997/37) : now very common and injurious to walnut crops in Trentino, Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. In 1994, reported in Lazio.
